Fujikura Europe is pleased to announce a newly evolved addition to its portfolio of technology-leading products for the voice and data communications industries. The FMS-025 Mechanical Splice incorporates the company’s injection moulding technology thereby offering a consistently high level of repeatability of performance with a connection loss of less than 0.1dB average.
Showcasing at this year’s ECOC exhibition in Sweden, the FMS-025 is an ideal solution for fibre-to-the-home providers, as well as having test and measurement applications for other industries such as aerospace, military communications and the enterprise sectors.
With the significant increase in demand for cost effective, high-performance products for fibre-to-the-home suppliers, Fujikura has capitalised on its world-leading expertise in MT ferrules to offer a more efficient and consistently high-performing product. “In the past couple of years we have developed the FMS-025, using our injection moulding technology, to provide a superior mechanical splice for our customers,” explained Brian Leonard, product manager at Fujikura Europe. “The FMS-025 operates with an incredible low insertion loss, and no matter how many times you use these products, they will always have the same level of accuracy.”
The FMS-025 is set to become one of the leading mechanical splices in the European market; the low disparity of each mould alignment enables a low insertion loss to be maintained and users can set up a reliable connection within seconds. Already in Japan, NTT have used the FMS-025 for installations to 800,000 subscribers in the Tokyo area .
It is clear that the FMS-025 is more than capable of meeting the significant demands of fibre-to-the-home providers for reliable, cost effective and easy to use products, and it is yet another example of why Fujikura Europe is a world leader.
