Low Bend Loss with Fujikura Europe’s New Optical Fibre

Fujikura Europe Ltd has announced two new additions to its range of leading optical fibres: the FutureGuide®-SR15 and FutureGuide®-SR15E. With an allowable bending radius of only 15mm these fibres offer significant space savings inside equipment and closures, especially for FTTH equipment.

The low bending loss of the FutureGuide®-SR15 series of optical fibres provides an incredibly versatile solution for cabling manufacturers, telecoms installation companies and communications equipment makers.

The FutureGuide®-SR15E is manufactured using the VAD preform manufacturing method, which is also used to produce the FutureGuide®-LWP (low water peak) fibre, eliminating water from the fibre preform. Available in a range of reel lengths up to 50.4km, the optical fibre can also be supplied coloured or non-coloured, depending on customers’ requirements.

“Many of our customers have made a point of complimenting us on just how good our optical fibres truly are,” said Roy Higgins, General Manager for Fujikura Europe Ltd. “With no fibre breaks at all during the cabling process, the FutureGuide® series of fibres offers a great deal of versatility without any compromise on quality.”

As the fourth largest manufacturer and supplier of optical fibre in the world, Fujikura is already well known for high quality, strong performance products and with a growing number of European customers, Fujikura Europe anticipates high demand for this new addition to the optical fibre range.

“We are recognised for being a leading supplier of splicing equipment, however an increasing number of companies are also making Fujikura a first choice for optical fibre products,” adds Makoto Yamagishi, Sales Manager at Fujikura Europe. “Our fibre manufacturing techniques are thoroughly tried and tested and deliver a consistently top quality fibre every time.”

The FutureGuide® series of optical fibres is yet more evidence that Fujikura Europe Ltd is emerging as a leading manufacturer and supplier of diverse optical fibre products and equipment.
